Representatives from the Taliban recently held talks with Western officials and civil society organisations in Norway aimed at addressing the worsening humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee hosted an online event on Tuesday 22 February from 11:00AM to discuss what came out of the meetings in Oslo and what are the next steps for the Taliban.
The event featured an opening by Kristian Berg Harpviken (Peace Research Institute Oslo), and a panel discussion with Arne Strand (Chr. Michelsen Institute), Tim Sharan (Afghanistan Policy Lab) and Kate Clark (Afghanistan Analysts Network).
The event also featured interviews with Taliban officials, pre-recorded by Terje Watterdal (Norwegian Afghanistan Committee).
