The NCHS recently hosted a webinar exploring the paradoxes of protection emerging from the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan and the implications for humanitarian action and geopolitics.

The expert panel of speakers discussed the emergency rationale underpinning the narrative that the only sensible thing to do was “to leave asap”, as well as the impact of the chaotic humanitarian evacuations on the protection of refugees and the consequences of leaving behind digital devices and biometric data.
