The NCHS together with the Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Centre for Gender Equality and Inclusive Leadership (CGEIL) recently hosted a webinar exploring the role of gender in humanitarian diplomacy.
More than two decades after the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (2000), this seminar reflected on the interaction between manifestations of gendered constructs and humanitarian policy and practice.
The seminar included presentations by Dr. Salla Turunen (Norwegian Centre for Humanitarian Studies) on “Gendered humanitarian diplomats at the United Nations” and Dr. Swarna Rajagopalan (Writer, Political Analyst, Social Entrepreneur) on “Gender, humanitarian crisis and international relations”.
