On 28 September 2023, the NCHS hosted a seminar with Farhat Taj (Associate Professor, University of Tromsø) where she presented her working paper “Why do the Taliban avoid public display of Afghanistan’s core identity clash with Pakistan?”

This is a follow-up to her recent article published in Policy Perspectives and also relates to the NCHS blog “Why does Pakistan support Islamist groups in Afghanistan?”

The seminar was held in-person on Thursday 28 September in Just Faalands room at the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI). The presentation and discussion was followed by a seminar lunch.
