On 27 January 2015, NCHS researchers Cindy Horst (Research Director, PRIO), Ole Jacob Sending (Reserach Director, NUPI) and Kristin Bergtora Sandvik (Director of the Norwegian Centre for Humanitarian Studies and Senior Researcher, PRIO) have participated in the conference Development research – what now?, a NORGLOBAL initiative.
The conference focused on how to achieve knowledge based policy on development and the interaction between research, development and policy in a development perspective. Results from research on effect of aid, and experiences from research cooperation with developing countries were presented along three sessions:
- Session 1 – “Bridging the gap between research, policy and activism”
- Session 2 -“Development research at a crossroads”
- Session 3 – “Research, business and policy”
Acting as a moderator, Cindy Horst contributed to discussions related to the first session. Kristin Bergtora Sandvik partook in session 2, presenting on aid in crisis and comprising the session’s panel discussion while Ole Jacob Sending participated as a panelist in session 3.
